We have chosen Ronald Jackson as our Recruit of the Month because of his amazing resilience to overcome many unique obstacles to get where he is today. Ronald is a baseball player at Westhill High School in Stamford, CT and will graduate this year. He spent last school year in the Dominican Republic taking care of his sick grandmother who raised him. He returned this past fall and was able to win his appeal to be eligible to play for Coach Mulvany at Westhill this spring. He has also maintained straight A’s this past year since returning from the DR.
We met Ronald this past winter during his training at Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy. Ronald can be seen below showing glimpses of his mission to be ready for this spring season. The background audio is Eric Thomas’s “When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you’ll be successful” and it perfectly describes Ronald’s work ethic! Ronald brought the players in the BVSA Fury Winter Workouts to a whole new level with his competitive spirit and leadership qualities. We wanted to share this video because Ronald’s work ethic is hard to teach. Hopefully he can inspire you to get yourself recruited!!
