Anthony Dimeglio, 3 year varsity catcher and RHP from Darien, CT, has committed to attend and play baseball at Fordham University. He is the first of the Scouted Sports class of 2015 to commit to play college baseball.
Fordham University is a private, Jesuit university that has 15,000 students over three campuses, two in New York City and one in Harrison in nearby Westchester county. Fordham, a Division 1 school, is a member of the academically renowned Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10), and an associate member of the equally prestigious Patriot League.
This past year, Dimeglio stood out both on offense and defense batting for a .356 average and a .999 On-base plus Slugging. He was a big part of Darien’s 17-6 record this past year, including a game versus Greenwich where he went 3-3 with a single, triple and a walk off homerun. Behind the dish, he only made a single error all year, making him one of the premier game-controlling catchers in Connecticut.
DiMeglio will join a rising Fordham team that improved its record this past year and looks to be a top contender in the A-10 Conference this upcoming year.
Congratulations to Anthony for this huge decision, and congratulations to the DiMeglio family for supporting Anthony through his rise in baseball. He is a young man with a bright future ahead of him!
